BIRD ISLAND RACE

The Bird Island Race is the fourth race of the Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore. This challenging 83 nautical mile course takes competitors from Sydney Harbour out along the coast to mark the northern turn at Bird Island (about 3 nautical miles north-east of Norah Head), before returning back to Sydney Harbour for the finish.

Expect a demanding offshore outing: the route requires tactical coastal sailing, prudent timing of sea and weather conditions, and a strong return leg into potentially variable winds.
